Non-Surgical Rejuvenation

These are frontier days for the pursuit of youth and beauty. Even though plastic surgery might be an excellent means to that end, many people simply don’t want surgery, can’t afford surgery or are too young to need surgery. And many people have had surgery, but need additional non-surgical corrections.

The core treatment for such goals should a skin care system that makes positive changes. This is followed by injectable products and lasers early in life, a combination that can forego more invasive surgery for many years to come.

The tools required for new and increasingly popular elixirs of non-surgical youth are the syringe, light, heat and judgment. With new injectable serums and gels and procedures arriving daily, one’s quest for youth is available to virtually anyone through your plastic surgeon or medical spa.

Statistics show that in 2005 nearly 11.5 million cosmetic procedures were performed and 9.3 million of them were non-surgical, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Nearly3.3 million Botox injections alone were performed. But professionals also performed 1.9 million injections of Hyaluronic acid such as Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm and other products like Sculptra, which restore lost facial volume.

Because these injectables (Botox, wrinkle fillers and volumizers) are less expensive than surgery and offer minimal down time, men and women are undergoing these treatments in ever increasing numbers.
